The EMN aims towards integrating heterogeneous information sources, data and documents on migration and asylum that are distributed throughout the EU Member States. To deal with the extreme heterogeneity, the co-ordination team of the EMN opted for a hybrid approach towards the future EMN Information System, which allows direct editing as well as a step-by-step integration of all national information systems of the network members, and at a later stage, other data providers. The hybrid approach for establishing a federated information system allows the Network members to participate in the EMN data collection independently from their actual available IT infrastructure, i.e. some partners can make use of central software tools while others work on their own, well-known tools.
Please note: During the set-up phase, the access to the information exchange system is restricted. National Network Members and other partners of the EMN can apply for a user account here.
