Conferences, meetings, workshops and training sessions allow for efficient and clear communication among the EMN members and a more unified network as a whole. Each gathering has a specific agenda, such as informing fellow members on work progress, training sessions related to various research and organisational techniques, or the planning of future studies and projects. For news on the latest meetings and conferences, please see the News page for updates.
Conferences provide a platform for everyone involved, or interested in becoming involved, in the EMN to get a better understanding of others´ roles and to present their own work or research. Conference attendees include representatives for the Commission, network members, the EMN Co-ordinator, and various network partners.
Workshops and Training Sessions are conducted for the benefit of the EMN and are related to various research topics and organisational techniques. Internal training sessions connect new network members with more established members in order to share best practices and organisational and networking techniques. These sessions also serve as a way of introducing the new network members to grant agreement procedures and the EMN information system.
Workshops allow Network Members the opportunity to share their initial findings of their studies and review each other´s progress whilst working on research projects, such as the EMN Return study. Workshops often include representatives from the Commission and from other organisations, often network partners. Both workshops and training sessions allow EMN to more fully accomplish its goal through active participation from everyone involved in the network.
EMN Meetings allow for discussion and planning on EMN studies and projects. These meetings allow for everyone in the network to co-ordinate on the various projects and co-operate more closely on accomplishing EMN goals. Meetings take place in Brussels every couple months.
